|
Established in 1926The SFUMC was started in 1923 and completed in 1926 at 400 Main Street in Stamps Arkansas. It was at that time part of the Methodist Episcopal Church South until 1939 when it became a part of the larger Methodist Church movement uniting under one name again. It again would change its in 1968 when the Methodist Church and Evangelical United Brethren Church joined together to become the United Methodist Church.

Our GoalMethodism is broadly evangelical in doctrine and is characterized by Wesleyan-Arminian theology. At its heart, the theology of John Wesley stressed the life of Christian holiness: to love God with all one's heart, mind, soul and strength and to love one's neighbor as oneself. Our goal is to follow the three rules set forth by Wesley: to do good, to do no harm, and to stay in love with God.
